Viasat Broadcasting has the second largest geographical broadcast footprint in Europe. It broadcasts more than 50 own branded TV channels in 31 countries and has 125 million viewers. Viasat is the broadcasting division of Modern Times Group MTG – an international media company with four business areas Viasat Broadcasting, Radio, Online and Modern Studios.
The Central Press department is now looking for a Press Coordinator on a full time basis. The role is based in our offices in Chiswick Park, West London.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Press Co-ordinator you will be responsible for all press activities regarding the content of our pay-TV channels shown in Norway. This work includes writing press releases and providing Norwegian press with screeners in our online screening system. The Press Co-ordinator is the contact point between Viasat Broadcasting and the Norwegian press
The Press Co-ordinator is also responsible for writing Norwegian TV-programme information for all acquired programming on our free-TV channels as well as Viasat Nature and Viasat Crime. This is done in the in the press system to agreed publishing deadlines. Changes to the pay-TV schedules must also be communicated to the Norwegian press.
Furthermore, the Press Co-ordinator must also do ad-hoc tasks as and when they arise in order to ensure press coverage and provide service to our customers.
We are looking for an individual that is fluent in Norwegian and have attention for detail. The candidate must have strong writing and translation skills in Norwegian and English. Prospective candidates will be tested.
Previous PR and/or broadcasting experience is an advantage, but not a necessity.
As we work towards multiple deadlines it is important that the candidate is a highly organised individual with a can-do attitude. The candidate must also have good cooperation skills as they will work closely with their Danish and Swedish colleague, the press department based in Norway and pay-TV programming, as well as providing a service to the Norwegian press.
